Be the new wine and new wine skin...

Mark 2:21-22 NKJV

No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse.  And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”

Shalom! Day #297. Do you know that we are new creations in Christ Jesus and that our old self must be put to death? Let's pray. Father, we thank You for this brand new life that You have given to us. Allow us to come before You today to be refilled, refreshed and renewed. Help us to continually to put to death our old self, our sinful nature at the cross. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

We cannot pour new wine into an old wine skin and old wine into a new wine skin. Jesus is trying to explain that, we that's been saved by His grace are to put on our new self and live according to His ways. The old self is totally in war with our new self, therefore they cannot be together.  Either you remain as old, or be a new creation. We have to die to ourselves that we may gain Christ,  the more we gain of Christ the more we will see the fullness of His life in us. Whatever things that we have gained before we knew Jesus,  is all rubbish compared to what God has prepared for us when we die to ourselves and become the new creation in Christ Jesus. Paul acknowledges this in Philippians 3:7-11 NKJV But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead. The process of learning to die to ourselves in every area of our lives is a challenging, but if you allow God to create us anew then you don't have to struggle.

We must put on our new self into the newly created being for a life that's filled with a new purpose, plans, vision, mission and passion.  In  Colossians 3:10 NKJV and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, and in Ephesians 4:24 NKJV and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. A newly created being, is restored and renewed in knowledge according to the image of God.  A newly created being is restored into true righteousness and holiness according to God. When we have put on the new man, there is no room for the old man. No matter how your life was in the past, it is not going to create a better future for us unless and until we crucify our old self and be created anew in Jesus because in Him there is life, abundant life and a hope and bright future. We are the wine skin and Jesus pours Himself into us. He cannot pour Himself into us unless and until we repent. When we repent Jesus creates a new wine skin and then He pours Himself into us.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
