The Lord is with us...!

II Samuel 5:9-10 NKJV

Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. So David went on and became great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.

******
Shalom! Day #151. Do you know that behind every achievements of a man and woman of God, there is a person and that person is God? Let's pray. Father, for without You we are nothing. The reason we are who are today is because that one encounter that's changed our lives and the continuous work that You have been doing in us since day one. Thank You for making us according to Your plans and purposes and Your will for our lives. In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen!

Greatness comes with a price. Greatness happens when we are willing to humble ourselves and submit to God. In James 4:6, 10 NKJV it is written that "But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up." Humbleness is the beginning for everything in our lives, be it success, greatness and so on. When we humble ourselves before the Lord our God, then you shall see and witness the power of God working in us and through us. God gives grace to the humble.

The reason David was well known because of his simplicity.  He was transparent before God. He didn't hide anything, even when he fell into sin, he repented. God says that "David was a man after God's heart." Now, this is the second thing, Humbleness, but the  most important thing we need to have is the presence of God. Now, without the presence of God, you are not able to climb up the stairs of success. So folks, you must identify in which areas of your life and ministry that God is working at and move together with Him, because the presence of God is there. As for me, I see there presence of God in the area of the youth ministry where I'm actively involved and as for the church,  I see God is working in and through the worship ministry. Where the presence of God is, there is assurance, hope, success, protection, blessings, healing, power, David recognizes this. Have you identified it? Why David was great and well known? It's because the presence of God was with him.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

The feeling of being rejected...!

I Samuel 29:6-11 NKJV

Then Achish called David and said to him, “Surely, as the Lord lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight. For to this day I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me. Nevertheless the lords do not favor you. Therefore return now, and go in peace, that you may not displease the lords of the Philistines.” So David said to Achish, “But what have I done? And to this day what have you found in your servant as long as I have been with you, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?” Then Achish answered and said to David, “I know that you are as good in my sight as an angel of God; nevertheless the princes of the Philistines have said, ‘He shall not go up with us to the battle.’ Now therefore, rise early in the morning with your master’s servants who have come with you. And as soon as you are up early in the morning and have light, depart.” So David and his men rose early to depart in the morning, to return to the land of the Philistines. And the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

******
Shalom! Day #150. Do you know that many people in one way or another are affected by rejection? Let's pray. Father, heal us and set us free from the spirit of rejection. Let Your joy and Your peace which surpasses all human understanding to reign in our hearts and mind. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

The feel of being rejected. Oh yes, I'm sharing about this today. Rejection, a feeling that grips your heart and it sows the seed of bitterness into your heart and you begin to isolate yourself because you feel rejected by everyone. I know how it feels and I know what rejection is able to do. If we never deal with it, then later the seed of bitterness will take root in our lives because of rejection. Sometimes people do not reject you directly, but indirectly.

In today's verse, we see how David was rejected in a good manner by Achish saying everything good about David. David did not deserves to be rejected, but he was rejected simply because he was a Hebrew. Most of the time people tends to reject us for what we believe in and holding on to and that becomes a concrete reason for them to reject us. David, was rejected but he took it the right way and left the next day morning. Many of us take rejection wrongly and bitterness begins to take root in out lives. You to deal with it, else it will be a stumbling block in your spiritual life.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

Touch not the anointed ones of God...!

I Samuel 26:9-11 NKJV

But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him; for who can stretch out his hand against the Lord ’s anointed, and be guiltless?” David said furthermore, “ As the Lord lives, the Lord shall strike him, or his day shall come to die, or he shall go out to battle and perish. The Lord forbid that I should stretch out my hand against the Lord ’s anointed. But please, take now the spear and the jug of water that are by his head, and let us go.”

******
Shalom! Day#149. Do you know you don't have any authority against the anointed one of God? Let's pray. Father forgive us if in anyways we have come against Your anointed ones. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

We have no authority to even fight against or speak against the anointed ones of God. Yes we can advice, but to lay hands upon them is actually bringing judgement upon ourselves.  They are anointed by God, so whatever happens,  either they are evil, they do things not pleasing unto God or even turning back from God, it is God who will judge them and not us. “ As the Lord lives, the Lord shall strike him, or his day shall come to die, or he shall go out to battle and perish."

Many today are quick to judge the servants of God,  the anointed ones of God. They begin to remove them from the ministry. They begin to come against them as a group. The Lord says, "touch not My anointed ones" yet we come against them. We plot against them to remove them, to judge them. We complain against them. Instead of praying and encouraging them, we actively involve in tarnishing their name, make them stumble and fall. There is a case where the congregation came against the pastor of the church, and they got him removed and replaced. Then what happened was, those who came against the pastor some died and some met in accident. So yeah it a gentle reminder, you bring it to God and let God to deal with it and not by our own might and power.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

Stand up and step out...!

I Samuel 17:33, 36-37, 45-47 NKJV

And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The Lord , who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!” Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord  does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord ’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

******
Shalom! Day #148. Do you know many of youths feel that they are not up to their pioneers standard and they tend to look down on themselves? Let's pray. Father, thank You for giving us this opportunity to serve You. Give is the courage and boldness to stand up, step out and shine for You. Thank You Lord. In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen!

Most of the time, I see this happening in a lot of places. Instead of training up new leaders,  the pioneers are afraid that the next generation of leadership may not be up to what the pioneers want. They are afraid that the next-generation will not be able to handle the responsibilities. In today's verse, Saul told to David that “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” Many at times youths or shall I say this  generations are shut off with such kind of reason without even giving them a chance to try simply because they are inexperienced.

But David, he replied boldly saying,  "Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The Lord , who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” David recognises the God who he serves and also what the Lord is capable of doing through him. Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord  does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord ’s, and He will give you into our hands.” Wow... do we have such a brave and courageous spirit as David? People should be able to recognize you courage and boldness in doing the work of the Lord. Taking and accomplishing greater challenges. You must be able to stand up and to step out of the crowd.

Inside out...!

I Samuel 16:6-7 NKJV

So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord ’s anointed is before Him!” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the  Lord  does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

******
Shalom! Day #147. Do you know that your heart appearance is what the Lord looks at and not your outward appearance? Let's pray. Father, search our hearts and know our motives in serving You. Let me not serve You with my outward appearance but from my heart to You. In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen!

We always look for talented people to serve in the ministry. If a person has a good voice, we will ask the to worship lead. If a person is good in playing musical instruments, we appoint them to play. Without looking at their spiritual maturity, their spiritual life, we just blindly appoint them. The Lord despises those who outwardly serves the Lord, but inwardly not. People who trying to present themselves outwardly looking good and doing good in the ministry, don't really portrays the same thing inwardly. The serve just as for a duty and not because of love.

In today's verse, when Samuel looked at Eliab and said, “Surely the Lord ’s anointed is before Him!” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the  Lord  does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” The Lord rebuked Samuel because he was looking the outward of a man. Outwardly we may seems to be doing a great ministry, but it doesn't guarantee that our spiritual life in doing well. Your spiritual life must project out your reality of living. Your spiritual life must influence your reality, not the other way round. In Proverbs 4:23 NKJV it says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life." Keep or guard your heart with all diligence,  because everything about your life comes out from your heart. Every good and bad intentions comes out from your heart. Guard it well. Serve God, live for God from inside out.

To obey is better than sacrifices...!

I Samuel 15:22-23 NKJV

So Samuel said: “Has the Lord  as  great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord ? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is  as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is  as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord , He also has rejected you from being king.”

******
Shalom! Day #146. Do you know that obedience is better than any kinds sacrifices and offerings? Let's pray. Father, we are grateful to You for again reminding us about the importance of obedience towards Your commandments and You voice.  In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

We think we can bribe God by giving Him our best sacrifice, but them most of the time we forget that obedience is the most important thing God is looking for in a man and woman.  What is sacrifice without obedience? In my previous post, Saul performed sacrifice offerings unto the Lord which he supposed not to do, God did not accept it because he disobeyed what Samuel said. You can offer your best sacrifice to God,  but without obedience it is nothing and God doesn't accept it.

Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is  as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is  as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord , He also has rejected you from being king. Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, I just know this today. Rebellion is a form of witchcraft,  and unknowingly we have been doing this all the while. Folks, it's never too late to repent lest God rejects our sacrifices and totally rejects us as His servants.  Take to the word and the voice of God. Obey the Lord and bring your sacrifices and present it before God,  and it shall be as a sweet aroma unto God.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

Everyone is replaceable...!

I Samuel 13:13-14 NKJV

And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to  be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

******
Shalom! Day #145. Do you know that many at times we disobey what the man of God tells us not to do and what to do? Let's pray.  Father, forgive us for disobeying the words of Your servants. Give us a heart that would obey Your words spoken through Your servants. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

In today's verse is an example of what is happening nowadays. Most of the time, when a servant of God warns us, we tend to listen but not to obey. For example if you are in a relationship with an unbeliever,  or may be a relationship that's not according to the will of God, when a servant of God says "no you must be yoked with an unbeliever," yet we disobeyed and we continue and then later something went wrong, then we regret of what we have done and we would think that"if only I heeded the warning given to me." Most of the time people come to servants of God for advice, but when the advice is given, they find it very hard to accept it and to do it, they just listen and obey not.

In this verse almost the same situation. Saul has no authority to perform the sacrifice offering. He was waiting foe Samuel to show up, but he came late, and so Saul does the sacrifice offering. Disobedience can cause us losing our calling. Never think in your heart that you are irreplaceable. Everyone is replaceable. Never ever think that without you the whole ministry will collapse,  or the worship team cannot move on, or there will not be a good leader. You are already making way for your downfall. In this case Saul's disobedience caused him to lose his title as a king. "The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to  be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you." Be extra careful to obey, observe and do the commandments of God. When a servant of God prohibits us to do something that we should not do, then better don't do it, or else we will the price for our actions and face the consequences.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

Is God an emergency room for us...?

I Samuel 12:9-10, 14-15, 20-22, 24 NKJV

And when they forgot the Lord their God, He sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the army of Hazor, into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them. Then they cried out to the Lord , and said, ‘We have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord  and served the Baals and Ashtoreths; but now deliver us from the hand of our enemies, and we will serve You.’ If you fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the Lord , then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the Lord your God. However, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord , but rebel against the commandment of the Lord , then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it  was against your fathers. Then Samuel said to the people, “Do not fear. You have done all this wickedness; yet do not turn aside from following the Lord , but serve the Lord with all your heart. And do not turn aside; for then  you  would  go after empty things which cannot profit or deliver, for they are nothing. For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people. Only fear the Lord , and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

******
Shalom! Day #144. Do you know that people always forget God when they have no any problems and seek God when they have problems? Let's pray. Father, forgive us for taking Your grace and mercy for granted. We do want to make You as an "ambulance" whereby when we have problems then we want to seek You. Let us, Lord, continuously seek You either in good or bad situations. Forgive us Lord. In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen!

Folks, I've seen many believers,  when they are in need they come to church to search for God, when they are not in need, I don't know where they are. This is a true fact and I believe that you agree as well, if not then it's ok. When they are in deep problems then they will really seek God with all their heart, if not then not even their nose is present at the church. When life is ok without any problems, well people tend to forget that there is a God who listened to their prayers and delivered them out of their problems. When there's a lot of trials and testing and problems and obstacles then they will pray seeking for God to help. My question is "IS GOD AN EMERGENCY ROOM FOR YOU?" When we are in the problem then we dial the emergency line, God please help me. When we aren't,  we make don't know and we don't even bothered to know whether is there a God.

In today's verse,  we can see this happening even during the old testament days, and I can say that this is a GENERATIONAL CURSE! "And when they forgot the Lord their God, He sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the army of Hazor, into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them. Then they cried out to the Lord , and said, ‘We have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord  and served the Baals and Ashtoreths; but now deliver us from the hand of our enemies, and we will serve You.’" The reason we face many problems is because we have forgotten the Lord.  We have forgotten all the miraculous works the Lord has done for us, all the wondrous works, all His goodness,  we have forgotten! For once we ponder and think about it and once all the problems are settled,  we forget who God is and what He has done and we do our own business.

Even at such, God is still gracious and merciful. Samuel told the Israelites "Do not fear. Only fear the Lord , and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you." Even when you have done wicked things, never ever run away from God, because only God....I repeat ONLY GOD can save and deliver us from the mess we have created and from the problems that has come upon us. Continue to trust God and serve Him faithfully and wholeheartedly. Although you have forgotten the Lord, yet the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people. Only fear the Lord , and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. Amen! Now do not make our God to look something like an emergency room!

A creating of a new man...!

I Samuel 10:6 NKJV

Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.

******
Shalom! Day #143. Do you know that the Spirit of God is capable of transforming you to a different person? Let's pray. Father, let Your Spirit come upon us and change us from inside out. Change us to be more like You and less of us. In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen!

Today, if you are serious about the touch of God upon your life, then be open to the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God is capable of doing great and mighty things in you and through you. The Spirit of God is able to change you from inside out. The Spirit of God is able to create a new inner man. Every believer must be Spirit filled and Spirit led. In my previous post, titled "The Spirit of the Lord," I have stated there a few of what the Spirit of God is capable of doing. Today we are going look into the transformation of our innerman from inside out. The Lord is interested with our hearts and not our outward appearances. Outwardly you may even trying everything in every possible ways to please God, but the Lord is asking us today, "what's in your heart?"

In today's verse,  it is written that, "Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man." A man of God is created or made when the Spirit of God comes upon him or her. It's like the Lord Himself appointed and anointed you. When the Spirit of God is upon you, He will change everything about into His likeness, according to His will and plans for your life. The molding of your characters and attitude. God needs to deal with your bad habits, your characters and attitudes before even you walk the plan of God. For every task and from every task you learn and you grow. The Spirit of God is making a new stronger man from inside out because He wants you to be strong in handling every task given as well as every plans He has for you, an impenetrable man and woman of God. The Spirit of God is creating a bolder character and attitude in you. A heart for God and His people. A heart set apart wholly unto God. So are you really wanting God to touch you and fill you with His Spirit? Better be, because the Spirit of God is moving aggressively and actively touching lives and transforming them. Change begins from us. Allow God to work in our lives.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

The prayers of an anguished heart...!

I Samuel 1:10-11 NKJV

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish. Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”

******
Shalom.  Day #142. Do you know that prayer that's coming out of an anguished heart always get answered? Let's pray. Father, baptize us with a heary that's filled with anguish so that we would not tolerate nonsense that's happening around us but will really pour out our hearts and intercede for this generation. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

In Psalms 126:5-6 NKJV it says that, "Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with  him." An anguished heart, that's what God is looking for. A heart that's burdened and anguished of what's happening around us. Nehemiah, his heart filled with anguish after hearing reports about what has happened to Jerusalem. He wept, mourned, fasted and prayed with such a burdened in his heart, and God used him to restore the walls of Jerusalem. Are we sowing the seeds of tears for this generation in our prayers? Folks,  it's getting late and it's getting serious. In the country where I am now, persecution has begun. They are actively involved in persecuting our fellow believers. What are we doing about it? I believe that NOW is the time for the churches to unite without looking at the walls of denominations.

In today's verse we read about Hannah.  Her heart filled with anguish and bitterness for what has been done to her. "And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish." Let me tell you one thing, Hannah prayed really earnestly with all her heart to God. When you are filled with such a grieve and pain and anguish, then you will really pray earnestly. I'm speaking from personal experience. We can spend so much time infront of the television and internet and watch our families go to hell and we aren't doing anything about it. Where is the cry for our families, communities, nation? Folks,  don't tell me that you are concerned. Concerned isn't just enough, but are you willing to pay the price and pray? Nehemiah prayed and God answered. Hannah  prayed amd God answered. God gave her a child and his name was Samuel and as per her covenant with God, she dedicated Samuel for the works of the Lord totally. If you earnestly pray, miracles do happen.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

Your works are not in vain....!

Ruth 2:10-12 NKJV

So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?” And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”

******
Shalom! Day #141. Do you know that the Lord knows your efforts you put in ministry and that your labor isn't in vain? Let's pray. Father, we thanks You that our rewards is in You. We pray Lord that our labor in ministry, serving You anf Your people shall not go in vain but it shall produce everlasting fruits. In Jesus name we ask and pray,  amen!

In 1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV Paul stated that, Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. Whatsoever your are doing,  be it in the ministry, for the Lord or even your personal life, when you do it with all your heart, God knows how to reward you back. You will find favor from God and man. This verse stated that we must always abounding in the work of the Lord.  What is the works of the Lord? Well, caring for the poor, giving shelter to the homeless, preaching the living and powerful Word of God, praying for the sick and demon possessed, encouraging one another and so on. So, when you abound in the works of the Lord, the time you have put in, all the efforts you put in, God knows how to reward you back. He will open up the heavens gate and flood you with everlasting, extraordinarily overflowing blessings.

In today's verse we again look into Ruth's character. Because of the choices she made and willing to leave her families behind and to follow Naomi and be with her, she was a companion to Naomi, she took cared of Naomi and the Lord honors Ruth's decision. Although she was Naomi's daughter-in-law, yet Ruth served Naomi. Ruth asks for Naomi's permission to go and work. When Boaz saw her, she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?” And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. The Lord repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.” Folks, never be fooled and tricked by the devil, by saying that all that you are doing is useless and no one is noticing all your works and efforts. God knows and God sees and He knows how to reward all your good works. The best of the best He will give you. So continue your good work, do it with all your heart and never complain and in everything give thanks.

Loyalty and faithfulness...!

Ruth 1:16-17, 22 NKJV

But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, Or  to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall  be my people, And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything  but death parts you and me.” So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess her daughter-in-law with her, who returned from the country of Moab. Now they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest.

******
Shalom! Day #140. Do you know that faithfulness and loyalty is what people valued most in a person? Let's pray. Father, give a heart that's loyal and faithful towards Your call and will and in doing it at any cost. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

People respects a person who is loyal and faithful. For example, no matter how bad or evil your boss may be, you still choose to stay and serve him, why? Maybe because of your prayers and kindness may change him to a better person. A loyal and faithful person is the one who goes through whatever situation the boss goes. Many of us choose to run away when the company is about to bankrupt or going through many problems. Those who are faithful and loyal will stay and see the breakthrough. For example, Peter,  Jesus said that he would deny Jesus 3 times, and Peter said he will never do it at all, but what happens? When persecution comes, he denied Jesus. Peter was afraid. Another example, for those who are married,  the vows we make, for better and worst, in tears and joy, in laughter and sadness,  together forever. This is really meaningful.  Whatever the husband and wife go through, they go through it together. If suffer, suffer together. Where does any husband or wife let their spouse to suffer and another enjoy life?

In today's verse,  we learn about Ruth's loyalty and faithfulness towards Naomi. The Hebrew word Ruth means friend. A friend is loyal and faithful, well some are not. Ruth was not just a daughter in-law to Naomi, but she was a friend as well. The bold statement and decision Ruth made,"Entreat me not to leave you, Or  to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall  be my people, And your God, my God. Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, If anything  but death parts you and me" changed her life totally. Jesus, He wasn't just a Friend, but He went to the extend of giving His life for the remission of our sins. Who is there a friend who would give his life for another, but Jesus. Ruth said to Naomi, I will never leave even if you chase me like a dog, I will still be loyal and faithful to you. This is the kind of attitude every believer must have. We always want good things from God, yet when troubles and problems comes, we runaway from God. Are we friends of God? Abraham was known as the friend of God because of his loyalty and faithfulness towards God in willing to sacrifice Isaac. Be loyal and faithful wherever God has placed you, unless God ask you to move out.

The Spirit of the Lord...!

Judges 14:5-6 NKJV

So Samson went down to Timnah with his father and mother, and came to the vineyards of Timnah. Now to  his surprise, a young lion came roaring against him. And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he  had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.

******
Shalom! Day #139. Do you know that when the Spirit of the Lord is upon you, you are capable of doing thing you not known of? Let's pray. Father, it's not by our might or power that we are able to do great and mighty things.  It is by Your Spirit that we are able to do extraordinary things. Let Your Spirit to continue to strengthen us and take not Your Spirit from us.in Jesus name we ask and pray,  amen!

During my growing up days, I use to watch this movie Samson and Delilah. I was told that Samsons strength was at his hair and that's the reason his parents did not cut his hair since his birth. But, when I came across this verse few years back and again today, I understood one thing, that it is not his hair that gave him the strength, but the Spirit of the Lord that was upon him. Many at times rely upon our own strength, abilities and we forget that God is able to do things far more than what we can think of. In Proverbs 3:5 NKJV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; Sorry to disappoint you, you may think that you are capable of doing extraordinary things with you own strength and wisdom,  sorry to say you will just fail. It may seem to be going on good, but it will not last.  Many, way too many of us rely upon our wisdom, strength, cleverness, all those piled up PhDs.

When the Spirit of God is upon us, we will not just do ordinary things but extraordinary things. You will attempt greater exploits, things you have not prayed of or even thought that you are capable of doing. One example from this verse is that Samson tore the lion into two pieces. "And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he  had nothing in his hand." With bare hands, come on.... he must be joking...I don't think so. As I said earlier,  when the Spirit of God is upon us, we would do things way out of human understanding. Here are few of the many things, the Spirit of God is able to do through you and in you.

1. You will receive power - Acts 1:8
2. You will be transformed into a new man - 1 Samuel 10:6
3. You will be a bold witnesses of God Acts 1:8
4. You will receive new strength - Isaiah 40:31
5. You will have authority and dominion over the devil - Luke 10:19
6. You will proclaim boldly the goodness of God - Isaiah 61.

A man of his word...!

Judges 11:29-31, 34 NKJV

Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh, and passed through Mizpah of Gilead; and from Mizpah of Gilead he advanced toward the people of Ammon. And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord , and said, “If You will indeed deliver the people of Ammon into my hands, then it will be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the people of Ammon, shall surely be the Lord ’s, and I will offer it up as a burnt offering.” When Jephthah came to his house at Mizpah, there was his daughter, coming out to meet him with timbrels and dancing; and she was  his only child. Besides her he had neither son nor daughter.

******
Shalom! Day #138. Do you know that when you've made a covenant with God,  no matter may hinder you, you must make sure that you do your promise? Let's pray.  Father,  established our heart in integrity. Make us a man of our word. Let us not be a liar but be truthful to our words to You and to our surroundings. In Jesus name we ask and pray,  amen!

This verse is teaching us today to keep to our promises and to our word. When we give our word to someone or even to God, make sure that we do it, make sure we keep to our word and not break the promises or the word. A man of word, a man of integrity. As I was reading this word, you know,  God reminded of the promises we make to God at many times and at that many times we to break the promises. Not only to God,  but to our fellow friends as well. People respect us when you keep to your word. You don't promise one thing and do something or dont even do anything at all. I always labeled such people as politicians. Well sorry to say, not all politicians keep to their promises as well. Same goes to us. But in this verse today, we see how Jephthah, kept his promises to God.

Abraham, God asked him to sacrifice Isaac,  but in this case, Jephthah offered to God,  he made a deal or shall I say more like a covenant. He said if God delivers the people of Ammon into his hands, then it will be that whatever that comes out of the doors of his house as he return back from the war, he will sacrifice it. To his surprise, his only daughter came out to greet and meet him with timbrels and dancing not knowing that it is she that's going to be the burnt sacrifice. Yet, when Jephthah told his daughter,  she accepted it and was willing to be given to be sacrificed. You should know one thing, besides her, Jephthah has neither a son or a daughter. Jephthah kept to his word, and gave his daughter. Let us talk about our daily routine. When we have an appointment, let's say at 10am, we woke up late and we are already late, calls after calls, the phone is ringing,  and we answer, I'm at the junction, I'm at here or at there. Where is the integrity of our heart? When we promised someone something,  let's say for example, we promised to do something for a community,  but then when it comes to doing, we neglected it, we are nothing but a liar and people won't respect you at all. Why I labeled them as politicians because, politicians when it's nearing elections, they promised many things yet after when they have won, the promises remains just as a mere word. Do we have the integrity such as Jephthah? A man of his word? You have to rethink it again. God bless.

*** p/s : not all politicians are "politicians." There are a handful of them who really does what they say and promised. And today's sharing isn't about nailing the politicians, but it's about the integrity of our hearts.

A mighty man of valor...!

Judges 6:11-12, 22-23 NKJV

Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord  is  with you, you mighty man of valor!” Now Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the Lord . So Gideon said, “Alas, O Lord God ! For I have seen the Angel of the Lord face to face.” Then the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.”

******
Shalom! Day #137. Do you know that God is able to use even a coward person to do His will? Let's pray. Father, we acknowledged that it not by our might or power that we are able to do Your will, but it's by Your Spirit that's at work in us and through us. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

God doesn't really need a man who is skillful in swords to do His will neither a brave man. When you are called, God makes sure that He provides everything that a person needs. He makes sure that the chosen person is well prepared for the works. Gideon, he's a coward actually, but then God approached him by saying,“The Lord  is  with you, you mighty man of valor!” The Lord knows it, yet He did not see what Gideon's current situation but He looked into his future of what would Gideon become. Why I say Gideon was coward, because he was hiding from the Midianites in the winepress. God saw Gideon was hidig there, and He saw what would Gideon become! The mighty man of valor!

Many of us are in this cowardly situation where we most of the time doubt whether God is able to use us or not. As I mentioned earlier, when God calls you, He make sure that you are molded according to what he wants. He choses you, then He breaks you, then He create a new you. New courageous and bold character, new spirit, everything new about you. There are many "Gideons" who are in the same situation as Gideon was and they are slipping away because they doubt whether God is able to use them or not. You are one of them. Hey, don't look into what you are now, but look at what you would become when you are in the Lord and doing His will. God has the blueprint of you life and He very well knows what you would become if you choose to believe in God and allow Him to use you. Gideon was a man just like you and me, he was mending his own business,  doing his daily routine - threshing wheat in the winepress,  but that one day little did he knew that God will come to visit him. He wasn't prepared for the visitation of God. Then he went and prepare the best meal for God. God will call you at any point of your life, be ready to heed the calling and not doubt. Doubt kills faith and destroys your calling.

Who will stand up for this generation...?

Judges 3:7-10, 12, 15, 31 NKJV

So the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord . They forgot the Lord their God, and served the Baals and Asherahs. Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years. When the children of Israel cried out to the Lord , the Lord  raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother. The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-Rishathaim. And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord . So the Lord strengthened Eglon king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the Lord . But when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord , the Lord raised up a deliverer for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left-handed man. By him the children of Israel sent tribute to Eglon king of Moab. After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who killed six hundred men of the Philistines with an ox goad; and he also delivered Israel.

******
Shalom! Day #136. Do you know that in every generation there's always a person God choses, trained them, and prepare them to deliver and to lead that generation? Let's pray. Father, we pray that as it was in the days of the old, raise up people that would run for You, stand for You,  lead this generation for You. Lord, that You would prepare them and train them for this cause. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Who will stand in the gap for this generation? The plans of God has always been a man or woman. Since the beginning until today, the Lord needs a man or a woman that would say, "here I am Lord, send me." The Lord is looking for those who would willingly give themselves for the call of God,  to stand for this generation. In this generation,  we need either to stand or pray that God would raise up someone. The best thing is, we give ourselves to God so that He can use us. This verse today, we can see how God raised up man after another to continue to lead and stand for the generation after Joshua. This three men, Othniel, Ehud and Shamgar shares one common thing which is, they were handpicked by God and the Lord uses them to deliver the Israelites. There's a cry in each generation for repentance. A generation that went on their wicked ways, and when God's anger was upon that generation, there was a cry of repentance from within that generation.

Your life isn't for you but it's for the generations to come. What you do in this lifetime makes an impact to the generations to come. A person with a different spirit is a person who doesn't care what people may say about them, but wholly be given unto God for His purposes. A person with a different spirit has something different in them. They don't think like anybody else, they don't talk like anybody else, they don't do things like anybody else. A person with a different spirit will not flow according to what is happening in their generation and surroundings,  but will stand up for the cause and began to do something. The was a cry in the Israelites generation and God heard that cry and God raised up a man to lead the generation. Who will deliver this generation from their wicked ways? It's you and I. Make your decision today. Either you stand with God for this generation,  or die like the rest.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

A generation without God...!

Judges 2:10-12, 20-22 NKJV

When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel. Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord , and served the Baals; and they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods from among the gods of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them; and they provoked the Lord to anger. Then the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He said, “Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not heeded My voice, I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died, so that through them I may test Israel, whether they will keep the ways of the Lord , to walk in them as their fathers kept them, or not.”

******
Shalom! Day #135. Do you know that  a new generation is rising up now without knowing who the Lord is and what He has done in our midst? Let's pray. Father, help this generation,  educate them with Your knowledge and wisdom,  train them disciple them, make known to them all Your wondrous and marvelous works so that they will not drift away from Your truth and serve other "gods."  Let this generation have a personal encounter with You daily. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

A new breeds of generation is rising up. A generation that's filled with technology.  Albert Einstein said, "I fear the day technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots." Sad the say that the day has come. The Spiritual pioneers before us, they have done their part in leading a generation that's been entrusted to them, yet sad to say though, there are some who did not take the time to train and prepare the next generation to usher into the plans and purposes of God for the new breeds. Some do really take time In discipleship and training and some not. This is the same exact situation the Israelites are facing. When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.

This new breeds needs to be taught and discipled. A generation without the knowledge of is a bunch of faithless generation. We need to be nurtured from the young age about what the Lord has done, all the great and mighty works of the Lord. Be established in the knowledge of the Lord so that we will not be godless. This has already happened in the generation after Joshua and it's happening almost in every generation. Then the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel; and He said, “Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not heeded My voice, I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died, so that through them I may test Israel, whether they will keep the ways of the Lord , to walk in them as their fathers kept them, or not.” Let us not be a stiff necked generation. Let us know the Lord and make Him known.

Serve Him in sincerity and in truth...!

Joshua 24:14-22, 24 NKJV

“Now therefore, fear the Lord , serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord ! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord , choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .” So the people answered and said: “Far be it from us that we should forsake the Lord to serve other gods; for the Lord our God is He who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way that we went and among all the people through whom we passed. And the Lord drove out from before us all the people, including the Amorites who dwelt in the land. We also will serve the Lord , for He is our God.” But Joshua said to the people, “You cannot serve the Lord , for He is a holy God. He is  a jealous God; He will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If you forsake the Lord and serve foreign gods, then He will turn and do you harm and consume you, after He has done you good.” And the people said to Joshua, “No, but we will serve the Lord !” So Joshua said to the people, “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen the Lord for yourselves, to serve Him.” And they said, “ We  are witnesses!” And the people said to Joshua, “The Lord our God we will serve, and His voice we will obey!”

******
Shalom! Day #134. Do you know that, once you have pledged to God, to serve Him, obey Him and fear Him, it means it's a lifetime covenant and no turning back from it? Let's pray. Father, thank You once again for You have chosen us to witness Your marvelous works to the this perishing world. Lord we pray that we will serve You till the end of age and beyond. In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen!

Serve the Lord in sincerity and in truth. Once you have made up your mind to serve the Lord, never turn back from the calling,  it can be either as a fulltime worker or as a servants. You must always remember this, we are all fulltime workers for the Lord, whether we have a working profession or not, your job is actually considered as part-time,  but being a believer and doing the works of God is considered as fulltime for God. You don't need to be a part of any organization to start doing the works of God, you can just start whenever and wherever the Lord has placed you. Be it at your school, university,  colleges or even at your work place, you can be the witnesses of the Lord.

Remain faithful to your call and never ever turn to so called "gods" false teachig, false gods and serve them or else,  the judgement of God is upon you. Just as Joshua declared, "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord ." For generation to generations to come, we must remain faithful and serve the Lord.

Doubt kills your faith...!

Joshua 23:3, 6-8, 10-11 NKJV

You have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations because of you, for the Lord your God is He who has fought for you. Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, lest you turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left, and lest you go among these nations, these who remain among you. You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by  them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, but you shall hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day. One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you. Therefore take careful heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God.

******
Shalom! Day #133. Do you know that most of the time although we have witnessed and seen the mighty works of the Lord yet at times we doubt? Let's pray. Father forgive us for doubting Your work and Your miracles that You have performed in us and through us. Help us to be bold and be strong and courageous to keep and do everything You have commanded to us. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Most of the time we doubt if God is using us or not. Yet wh3n God uses us we again doubt because we think like,  how can this be, or is true or whatsoever doubts that crosses our mind. Oh who am I that the Lord wants to use me? This verse says that "You have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations because of you, for the Lord your God is He who has fought for you." The Lord is willing to do great and mighty things for you, oh yes He is willing to do it just for you and for your sake. So why do you doubt? Be very courageous to trust in the Lord and do the things the Lord has commanded you to do. Just because we doubt, we, you and I, there's possibilities of drifting away from the Lord.  When we begin to drift away, we will be so open to believe craps and all the philosophies of this world.

If you begin to doubt, you will begin to absorb and give In to the philosophies of this world to corrupt that little faith you have. When you hold fast to what the Lord has for you, One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you. Therefore take careful heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God. When you heed the voice of God and the teachings of God, you shall be one mighty generation.  A generation that cannot be shaken! You shall drive out demons and false "gods", false prophets and teachings. You know folks, I had a spiritual adopted brother, I caref for him as my own, I warned him many times not to be in a relationship with an unbeliever, he didn't took heed of what I've said and now he is in the verge of embracing the false faith, just for a love that the world offers, yet he forgotten what thr Lord has done for him. He did saw and witnessed, but then, he doubted and still not able to see the perfect works of God in his life. Doubt kills faith remember this...!

His promises shall come to past...!

Joshua 21:43-45 NKJV

So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. The Lord gave them rest all around, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers. And not a man of all their enemies stood against them; the Lord delivered all their enemies into their hand. Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

******
Shalom! Day #132. Do you know that, there's none a promise had been broken by God neither will He do. Let's pray. Father, as it is written, Your promises are yes and amen. Your promises last forever,  from generation to generations. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

When the Lord promises something, He makes sure that it comes to past. God doesn't give any empty promises,  but a promises with full of hope, power and miracles. The promised Abraham, and the promised was fulfilled by Joshua in to entering the promised land, a land flowing with milk and honey. What's the promises of God for your life? Have you seen your true potential in the promises of God? Stepping into the promises of God for your life and unleashing His plans and purposes for you is the best thing ever you can experience in your life. So the Lord gave to Israel all the land of which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they took possession of it and dwelt in it. The promises of God which He had sworn to you, it's about time for you to take possession of it and dwell in it. Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.

From generation to generations to come, the Lord is faithful and His love endures forever.

A faith that controls mountains...!

Joshua 14:6-12 NKJV

Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him: “You know the word which the Lord said to Moses the man of God concerning you and me in Kadesh Barnea. I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord  sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it  was in my heart. Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’ And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am  as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord  will  be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.”

******
Shalom! Day #131. Do you know that when begin to serve the Lord from your youthful age, when you grow old,  you will just feel that you are still having the strength of a youth? Let's pray. Father, our pray is that Your joy will be our strength and as we joyfully serve You,  let Your joy be completed in us and continue to strengthen us as we conquer new mountains. In Jesus name we ask and pray,  amen!

Folks, serve the Lord from your youth. Even till today, I don't feel tired serving the Lord,  yet my strength is renewed each time I serve the Lord. I just feel the strength of a young lion oh yes like the eagle soaring with the Lord! In today's verse we look into Caleb's attitude. Even though he was 85 years old, yet he has the strength of a 40 years old man. He wholeheartedly followed the Lord since his younh age, he was one of the 12 spies,  he was the one who the Lord said, "a man with a different spirit." The attitude Caleb has is something that we going to look into and study today.

In the new testament, Jesus said, "if you have a faith as a mustard seed you can move the mountain." But in this verse,  Caleb is asking for a mountain. It means he has a faith not just to move the mountain but also to conquer and take control of the mountain. Wow! Look at his faith! A man with a different spirit has a faith not just to move mountains but also to take control of the mountains. Here, mountains I can say something of what you are facing, your situations, problems and every challenges we face. We always want to move the mountains, but to stay and take control of it, no... but a man who is able to take control of a situation, problems, or even challenges, he or she will grow strong in faith and spirit. We always run to pastors, leaders for prayers so that our burdens are lightened, nothing wrong, but God has given us a Spirit that's greater than that's in the world. Use the power and authority God has given to us. Be bold and courageous to step in and take control of any kind of situations and challenges you face. Never falter and runaway or even take the easy way out from every problems or even challenges. Stand strong and fight it!  Conquer and take control!  Caleb has an attitude of never giving up, willing to face new challenges,  willing to take control of every kinds of situations and challenges and problems. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord  will  be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!

The day the sun stood still...!

Joshua 10:12-14 NKJV

Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the voice of a man; for the Lord fought for Israel.

******
Shalom! Day #130. Do you know that the sun and the moon will take heed to your commands when you command them? Let's pray. Father, thank You for entrusting us Your power and authority. As we understand the weight it carries, let us not use it in vain. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

There was once a group of scientists did a research on why there's a day missing in the solar system they were not able to answer or find the answer until they stumbled upon this verse in this chapter. Then they began to understand why was there a day went missing. The day that the sun stood still! I don't know whether will this kind of phenomena will happen in our age or not, but one thing I believe is that in the name of Jesus every knees shall bow, everything will take heed to the commands. But again, I don't know whether it will happen again or not, I haven't tried before. When Joshua commanded the sun and moon to stand still, it stood still, it happened! What kind of a man is he, even the sun and the moon obeyed his commands? The reason the sun and the moon obeyed his commands is because THE LORD WAS WITH HIM! The power and the authority the Lord bestowed upon him was at worked! Do you remember that the Lord said, "I will exalt you?"  Yes indeed the Lord exalted Joshua, even his fame wasn't like Moses.

If we realize that to us, the Lord has entrusted His power and authority,  then do not doubt to use it in every situations of your lives. In Matthew the last chapter,  the Lord said “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth." Now that same power has been given to us. The power of the name of Jesus Christ! Yes, the power of His name! There's power, wonders working power in the name of the Lord and in the precious blood of the Lamb! Joshua knows his identity. He knows what he is capable of doing because the Lord was with Him and He know that without the Lord he is nothing and won't be able to do anything! Not by power, not by might but by the Spirit of the Lord that's at work in and through each one of us. I am a child of God,  I know what I am capable of doing,  I know who I am and I know that the Lord is with me therefore I am fearless and courageous! How about you? Well, the fact is I haven't command the sun and the moon to stand still, I'm not sure whether I want to do so or not, haha.

Get rid of the accursed things...!

Joshua 7:6, 10, 13 NKJV

Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads. So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? Get up, sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: “ There  is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”

******
Shalom! Day #129. Do you know that when there's sin in the camp, you won't be able to fight against the enemy? Let's pray. Father, help us identify our sins and trespasses before we fight our enemy, the devil. Lest the devil use our sins against us till we are not able to stand before the enemies. Come and clean us Lord. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Are you facing a situation where you feel hopeless, disappointed, frustrated, you feel like things are not getting better,  things aren't moving forward, things aren't going anywhere? Well, then there's a serious matter that we need to look into. In a battle,  a war, the enemy or the attacking force will always find the enemies weakest point so that they can attack there and defeat the enemy. In this case today, if we are trying to wage war or even in a warfare and you are being attacked from every corner, instead of you attack the enemy, the enemy is whacking you, well then there's something you need to look into. When you are in or even before you engaged into spiritual warfare, check your hearts first. Come to God in total repentance and allow God to bring healing and restoration in our lives then, be build up strongly on the foundation of His word and grow.

When Joshua was defeated,  Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads. He was wondering what went wrong. He was like questioning God for what has happened. God yes, He Is a merciful and filled with grace, but then when there Is sin in us and we didn't do anything about it and going to warfare with the devil, you will be easily defeated because the devil knows your weaknesses and he will attack you from there. In Joshua's case, it wasn't Joshua who sinned, but Achan because he took an accursed thing into their camp and because of this the Lord said, "There  is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you." You cannot stand before the devil and fight him if there's issues in your life that hasn't been dealt with. Get right with God then you shall see victory!

Get focused...!

Joshua 5:13-15 NKJV

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “ Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?” Then the Commander of the Lord ’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.

******
Shalom! Day #128. Do you know that our attitude and perspective must change as we face the giants of our lives? Let's pray. Father, give us a determined spirit and a new perspective as we face the giants of our life. Give us eyes that would focused to You only and nothing else. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Have you ever wondered what was the first thing did Joshua saw when he came to Jericho? I will tell you, but hey have you ever wondered? What we see is important and our attitude at what we see is so much important. I give you one example, guys are carried away when they see a pretty, sexy and beautiful girl, well that's the fact. Many of us are carried away when we see the problems we face, the challenges we encounter and the situation we are. Our attitude begins to react according to what we see. Another example,  Job, when he was tested by the devil, Job saw what kind of situation he was, and his attitude towards it was different, he gave thanks to God and did not curse God or blame God what he was going through at that time. Our perspective and attitude is important as we face every challenges and situations of our lives because it shapes us to be who we are today.

So in today's verse we are going to learn something from Joshua.  The first thing Joshua saw at Jericho was the tall walls of Jericho.  At a glimpse his focus was diverted to the walls - his problems, his situations and his challenges. Now the wall was his problem. So here we will learn how God had to intervene and divert back Joshuas focus to God back. At that point Joshua forgets the promises of God to hom, I suppose. It says here , " that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand." After looking the walls of Jericho,  then suddenly his focus was diverted towards the Man standing there. Joshua lifted his eyes and he LOOKED. The way you look into every situations,  challenges and problems shows the outcome of what will happen to you. When we face problems,  challenges and tough situations, if we lose focus on God, it will be very hard for us to go through it.

When Joshua lifted his eyes and looked at the Man, he asked “ Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” When Joshua regained his focused,  he bowed down to the ground and worshipped the Man. At that point, he asked the Lord what plan or the strategic they would be using against the enemy, but the Lord said to Joshua “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so. Those days sandals are a very important thing for a soldier,  because the soldier uses it to cover his feet from bruises, from any thorns and sharp stones as they walk through the forest, wilderness. Sometimes we think we can do everything according to our strength and abilities. Yet, whenever we try to do something, we fail because we rely upon our own understanding and our ways. Joshua relied upon his shoes for battle but the Lord asks him to remove it. The reason to remove is that he would put his total trust and focuses upon the Lord and not on his own abilities. The Lord is not anybody's side, it's either we are on His side or otherwise and when you are on His side,  you will see victory. So, it matters what you see and your attitude in what you see. See, attitude,  action.

Sanctify yourselves...!

Joshua 3:5, 7 NKJV

And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” And the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

******
Shalom! Day #127. Do you know that when we allow God to sanctify us, He will use us to the splendorous of His glory? Let's pray. Father, sanctify us, cleanse us anf purify us. We want to see great things happening in us and through us. We want to see Your wonders in us and through us. Use us to do greater exploits. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Now the second step for greater success is to allow God to sanctify uw thoroughly. The first and foremost is of cause building and being rooted in the living Word of God. As we continue to build ourselves in the Lord,  we must allow God to do His part in our lives as well. The sanctification process. If you want to do greater exploits for God, then each one of us must be thoroughly sanctified. Sanctification isn't a one-day process, it's a lifelong process. I'm still running with the vision of History Maker. I want to be a History Maker in my generation,  so what I must do? Well, be rooted and be built on the living Word of God,  then allow God to sanctify me thoroughly and refines me as gold is refined. The Lord does wonders in you and through you.

In today's verse,  Joshua is addressing the Israelites to sanctify themselves for the days that are to come is very challenging and they are going to crossover the Jordan, to go into the land of Canaan where they will be facing many challenges. The reason Joshua asked them to be sanctified is for a purpose. Sanctification is a process where we humble ourselves and coming to God willingly to repent, to be renewed, to be revived, to be rebuild. When we re aligned towards God, His purposes, His will and His ways then we have no reason to fear for the challenges that we are going to face in days ahead. You don't have to try to build a name and fame for yourself,  but hey the Lord Himself will put the fear of you to the nations, He will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. To be a History Maker,  you got to be different to make a difference.

Get ready to step in...!

Joshua 1:1-3, 5, 8-9 NKJV

After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord , it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. No man shall be  able  to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so  I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

******
Shalom! Day #126. Do you know that Lord has been preparing the next breed of leaders to lead this generation? Let's pray. Father, we present ourselves before You today, that You would use us, to lead this generation into their promised land, their inheritance. Use us Lord as we willingly give ourselves to You. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

As I was reading this verse today, suddenly the Lord whispered to me saying, "get ready to step into your promised land, you inheritance and as you lead, you will cause this generation to inherit their promises as you lead them." I was so surprised by the statement the Lord said. I believe, I am not the only one who will lead thi generation, but together with many others who the Lord has prepared. In today's verse we can see how the shift of leadership took place. When Moses was leading,  the Lord spoke to the Israelites through Moses,  and now as soon as Moses is dead, it is written that "After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord , it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun." The Lord begin to communicate through Joshua the new leader of Israelites. It means the Lord our God did not sit and wait and mourn for the death of Moses, but as soon as Moses died, the Lord spoke to Joshua!  God did not procrastinate. He called Joshua and gave him His commands to  arise, go over this Jordan, he and all this people, to the land which the Lord is giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of his foot will tread upon the Lord have given to him, as He said to Moses. Wow what an assurance!

Folks, are you ready to step into your promised land your inheritance? As you step into your promised land, there will be enemies around you attacking you. God did not promised a bed of roses, a road without potholes but He Indeed promised that "Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. No man shall be  able  to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so  I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Wow...this is what I am talkong about now. We are not alone. As you lead God is with you,  anf He very well knows that you are not able to do it alone. But with one condition which is  "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." Meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. Now this was Joshua's secret. He did not do anything without asking God.  He obeyed the laws and the commandments of God. He did not flow according to how the Israelites was, but he lead with courage and integrity.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

The Lord's promises and prophecies for you...!

Deuteronomy 31:3, 6-8, 23 NKJV

The Lord your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the Lord has said. Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it. And the Lord , He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” Then He inaugurated Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”

******
Shalom! Day #125. Do you know that it is important that we hold on to the promises and the prophesies of God? Let's pray. Father, as we continue to hold on to Your promises and Your prophecies, let us not forget the purpose of Your calling in our lives. Let the promises and prophecies come to past in our lives as we continue to serve You. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

The moment you are called to serve, do you still remember the promises of God upon your lives and the word of prophecy concerning you on the day one of your calling? It is important that we do not forget it. Why? Because it is the catalyst that moves us to attain our calling without looking at the hindrances we have to go through, without looking at how big the walls are that we need to breakthrough. We must recall back the first time the Lord spoke to us His promises and prophecies so that we may not falter and pursuing our calling. As for me, every time I face challenges, obstacles, I recall back the prophecies and the promises of God concerning my life and calling and as I recall back, i regain new strength, new vision, new passion, new mission to pursue on the call of God without looking at all the the things that's happening, but continue to focus on God and to run the race.

In today's verse, this is the promise God promised Joshua personally. "Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” The Lord affirms His promises to Joshua by repeating it again and again. In days to come we will be reading more about Joshua and how God was with him in every situation and condition of his life as he led the Israelites into the promised land. This is the promises God released upon Joshua as Moses anointed him to be the next leader of Israel, leading them into the promised land. Do you still remember your calling, the Lord's prophecies and His promises? Are you tired of facing obstacle after obstacles? Are you tired of facing the goliath's of your life as you continue to serve the Lord? Now is the time for you to recall back the Promises and the Prophecies of God! Remember it, for it will cause you to move forward no matter what happens, no matter how hard it can be, no matter how big the walls can be, IT WILL CAUSE YOU TO PENETRATE AND BREAKTHROUGH!

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing...!

Deuteronomy 30:6, 9-11, 14, 19-20 NKJV

And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. The Lord your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your land for good. For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. “For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that  I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

******
Shalom! Day #124. Do you know that the Lord rejoices over you because you obeyed the Lord's voice and His commandments? Let's pray. Father, let Your word continuously be established in our hearts that we may be a generation that obeys Your commandments and Your voice the rest of our lives. In Jesus name we ask and pray,  Amen!

The word of God is near to us and it's in our mouth therefore use it wisely, obey accordingly, follow seriously. If you know the truth of His word, therefore the truth will set you free from every doubt, sins, lies, bondage. The word of God is to build us and establish us in Christ Jesus so that whenever we encounter life's difficulties, we know how to react. It is not about our condition,  but our reaction. When you diligently obey and follow and observe the commandments and the voice of God,  then the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. Amen! The Lord will be interested in you and He would take you, cleanse you, circumcise your heart so that you will live and serve the Lord the rest of your life and continue to walk in all His ways and OBEY His commandments. The Lord recreates a new heart in you, not a renovated heart, or reincarnated heart but a renewed and newly created heart so that you will live! For the Lord will again rejoice over you for good as He rejoiced over your fathers, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that  I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them. Wow.... God is indeed serious about this. You disobey,  you are cursed, yet when you obey then you shall live and be blessed and experience overflowing blessings from God. Come back to God my generation, come back! This us the cry of my heart for this generation,  my generation!

Disobedience brings curse upon our lives...!

Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 15 NKJV

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God: “But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:

******
Shalom! Day #123. Do you know that the secret for God's limitless blessings is obedience? Let's pray.  Father, forgive us if we have been found in rebellion towards Your voice and commandments. Create in us a pure heart,  a heart that would obey and observe Your voice and commandments. In Jesus namr we ask and pray,  amen!

Giving thanks in all situations and stop complaining is one of those requirements or keys to unlock God's blessings upon our lives. Yet, the main thing, or shall I say the core of receiving and living in His blessings is OBEDIENCE. Obedience is the centre of our attitude and character. Giving thanks in all situations is the will of God for our lives,  but obedience is the requirements that the Lord wants from us, because it is from inside out. Yes, obedience is from our heart to God. The generation that came out of Egypt was not obedient to God and His commandments therefore God had to remove them from entering the promised land, and from His promises for them. Our disobedience can cause us to lose our calling, our blessings, and His promises. Yet, God allowed the next generation to enter the promised land. A generation where Joshua was the leader. God's promises is upon us, but if we are disobedient,  we will not see or even experience His promises for our lives, but the promises will flow to the next generation,  our children.

Disobedience brings curse upon our lives. But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you. If we obey, His blessings doesn't come like raindrops, but it will come like tsunami, the gates of heaven will be opened upon you and the blessings of God will overtake you. Which means, the blessings of God is not just for your current situation, not just to fill in this current situation but also it flows and fills for the future. But when we disobey, the curse of God is upon us. As same as the blessings of God overtake us, the same will happen when we disobey God. Let us come in repentance,  humble ourselves before the Lord and obey and observe His commandments and listen to His voice. All as I desire to see is that this generation to come to God in repentance,  humble ourselves before the Lord and allow God to bring healing in our lives, families, communities and our nation and generation.
