Deny yourself...!

Mark 8:34-36 NKJV

When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.  For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?

Shalom! Day #302. Do you know that it doesn't matter how much knowledge, wisdom, wealth of the world we gain will never profit a man if his or her soul has no Jesus in it? Let's pray. Father, we pray today that we may gain the knowledge of knowing You and the knowledge of Your salvation. Let not our soul perish without knowing You. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Deny ourselves and take up the cross. As we follow the Lord, are we denying ourselves? Denying our selfish ambitions, denying our fleshy desires, denying our will and livingfor His will and purposes alone. Deny yourself and then carry the cross and follow Him. Are we willing to sacrifice all the wealth and riches, all the doctorates, the status we have and to take up the position of a servant and serve? Servanthood begins with a humble heart. If you are willing to sacrifice all you have in this world and live fully for Him, you will gain Him and everything He has for you. God is not impress with the amount of money you have until you can throw around. God is not impress with the piled up certificates that you have. God is not impress with the outward appearance.  God is not impress with you status. God is only impress with your heart, the attitude of your heart.

We may gain the whole world, but what profits to us of we lose our soul to the world? Even our body is perishable, but our soul live for eternity. Now the question is where will it go? To hell or to heaven? You have the choice. So are you willing to deny yourself and take up the cross and follow Jesus wholeheartedly?

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
