The perfect betrayal...!

Matthew 26:21, 38-39, 41-42, 45, 48-50 NKJV

Now as they were eating, He said, “Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will. ” Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”  Then He came to His disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.  Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.” Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.

Shalom! Day #294. Do you know that in one way or another we have betrayed the Lord Jesus Christ? Let's pray. Father, forgive us for betraying for the perishable things of this world. Lord, thank You for reminding us once again through Your word today that our flesh is indeed weak, but our spirit is willing. Help us to yield to Your Spirit more and more. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

I'll start by asking you one question and I don't expect you to reply. Well, have you ever been betrayed by that one person whom you trust, love, respect, the one you look up to, or even your BFF? Everyone in one way or another have been betrayed and also had betrayed one another. Oh that feeling of being betrayed....! What kind of feelings did Jesus had when He knows that He's going to be betrayed by the one who sat together with Him at the table and eat? It took Him a lot of courage to handle His emotions. His heart was exceedingly sorrowful even to death! Oh that perfect betrayal! In one way or another we have become Judas Iscariot along the way in our beliefs and in our faith towards Jesus. Oh yes! Don't give me that innocent looks. We have betrayed Jesus for the wealth of this world. We have betrayed Jesus for love which is not in same faith. Yes, people are willing to sell Jesus for the love they have in another people from different faith! Jesus said, "do not be equally yoked with an unbeliever." We have betrayed Jesus by not trusting upon His word. We've become Judas Iscariot! Betrayed Jesus for 30 shekels of silver coins :( . We betrayed Him with a kiss. All the sweet words we have spoken to Jesus, just remained a word. We said Lord, I want to live for You alone, to do Your will, and so on, yet it remained as mere words. At the end of the day, we live for ourselves. We did what we willed. Sealed a betrayal with the sweetest kiss.

Do you know what Jesus felt every time we betray Him? His soul is exceedingly sorrowful,  even unto death! The feeling we get when you know someone has betrayed you, wow.. I'm pretty sure that you feel like want to whack that person, or hurt them back. Yet, Jesus said, let Your will be done. He willingly accepted the will of Father upon Himself. Jesus's reaction was different. Even though He knows we would eventually betray Him, He still calls us FRIEND! He knows Judas Iscariot is going to betray Him, yet He asked Judas Iscariot,  "friend,  why have you come?" Peter, denied Jesus 3 times, but at the end of the day, he repented for denying Jesus. Even at the point of beig betrayed, Jesus still calls us friend, now that's what I call LOVE. While you still have a chance, repent and be saved. Let not His redemption works on the cross be meaningless to us. Do not betray Him, for He has a wonderful plan and purpose filled with hope and bright future for you and me.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
