Why have you forsaken Me....?

Matthew 27:46 NKJV

And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Shalom! Day #295. Do know what is the feeling of being forsaken by the one who you trust, love? Let's pray. Father, we know that it is sin that separates a man from You. Therefore Father,  bring us back to You in reconciliation and never leave us. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Oh that feeling you get when you are forsaken by your friends, when you are isolated by the one you love, family and friends is a really heartbreaking, painful situation. Father God had to literally abandoned Jesus at the cross. Jesus was left alone, yet despite being left and forsaken by God, His focus and the determination and His purpose did not change. In this verse, Jesus cried out with a loud voice,  saying My God,  My God, why have You forsaken Me? Jesus cried out with a loud voice. Note that point. It means, it was such a painful, anguish filled moment for Jesus when God abandon Him. The pain of separation Jesus had to bore. Not only physically He was tortured, but emotionally as well. The movie The Passion of Christ is just a little glimpse of what Jesus actually went through. It was far more gruesome than what we have watched. At the cross bearing all our sins, He was willing to be separated with God for that one moment just to bring redemption and salvation to us. He thought of you and me at the cross!

In this modernized age, people are so easily can live without God in the story of their lives. They think it's my life, it's my storyline and I'm the director, but they forget that God is the Creator  of their storyline. The amount of anguish and pain Jesus felt when God abandoned Him, nowadays people don't feel it that way. For them, there is no importance of getting closer to God or even reaching out to God. They are just addicted to everything the world has to offer. A man without God in his or her life is like an empty tin tryin to make some sound. Jesus demonstrated the pain, the anguish He felt when God the Father abandoned Him at the cross, not because He wants to, but He has to because God is Holy, and Jesus was bearing all of our sins upon His shoulder at the cross. Holiness cannot be mixed with sins. What God felt when He has to abandon His only Son at the cross, hanging there in  helpless condition with blood flowing out of His body? God would have felt the same as Jesus felt. It is the same now, I don't know how do you feel if you are forsaken by God, but when we forsake God,  He feels that deep pain. Folks, come back to your first love and never ever be separated from the love of God! His promises to is that He will never leave us nor forsakes us! Abide in Him and He in you.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
