Midnight Crisis...!

Acts 16:25-26 NKJV

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Shalom! Day #346. Do you know that everyone of us have this midnight crisis and how we overcome it will not just affect us but our surroundings as well? Let's pray. Father,  we thank You for Your never-ending empowerment of Your Holy Spirit in continuing to strengthen us as we walk this life in the midst of crisis, problems and difficulties. Thank You Lord.  In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

I have read this passage many times and each time I read, I receive a new revelation from this portion of the scripture. I simply name today's sharing as MIDNIGHT CRISIS,  because this event took place at midnight and at that very hour Paul and Silas realized who they are and what they are capable of doing. In urban dictionary, the meaning of MIDNIGHT CRISIS is a crisis in which an individual realizes that they are not what they want to be. In accordance with this crisis the person, in many cases, may change their life drastically. Now that's what exactly Paul and Silas did. They realized who they are and what they are capable of doing. Although they were imprisoned, yet they choose NOT to be like the other prisoners. They made a difference in the prison and that affected the rest of the prisoners.

Now, are you ready to receive the revelation that I have received from God? Well, here it goes....

1. Acknowledge who you are and what you are capable of doing.
⊙ Paul and Silas they choose not to be like the fellow prisoners.
-> It's written here in this verse, "But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them." You must understand one thing here. Paul and Silas were bound in chains and even that kind of situation they realized who they are. They did not forget that they are the CHILD, SERVANTS, BELIEVERS AND THE FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST JESUS! Many of us when we go through crisis and problems,  we forget our identity. We forget that we are the child of God, the servants of God, the believers and the followers of Christ Jesus! We forget what authority we have! Paul and Silas they acknowledged it and they choose to stand out of the crowd! They know what the God they serve is capable of doing. They began to pray and sing hymns to God. Spirit filled Prayer, Praise and worship is the main weapon for spiritual warfare.

2. And the prisoners were listening to them.
⊙ Paul and Silas was singing and praying so loudly until everyone in the prison heard it.

-> Now, people are looking at you. They are observing your every movement as a believer and child of God. They are looking at what kind of testimony you would become. Your actions can affect those surrounding you. In the midst of the crisis and problems you go through, you don't just somehow go through but you breakthrough all odds and obstacles!  The determination,  the strength, the ability and the capability you have as you breakthrough the crisis and problems would be an encouragement to those surrounding you. When you realized your identity and you choose not to flow with the crowd, but to stand out and make a difference in the crisis you go through, you are actually setting an example to others as well.

3. The final point, Paul and Silas wasn't delivered out of the prison but inside.
⊙ your deliverance is from inside out.

-> Daniel wasn't delivered out of the lion's den, but inside of the lion's den. God is able to deliver you from inside of your crisis. Many would want to be delivered outside of the crisis and problem, but those who have the different spirit,  like Caleb and Joshua, they saw the possibilities in the impossibilities. To you is given a faith that's not only able to move the mountains but as well as to conquer and take control of that mountain! When you are delivered from inside, then people outside will be waiting to see how you become. Paul and Silas was delivered in the prison, and they were taken out later. Even the jailer was amazed! Daniel was delivered from inside, then King Darius and his officials were amazed because Daniel was alive!

So, what shall I say here in conclusion? I think I have said it all. Now belongs to you to apply it. Do not settled for what your surroundings cause you to be, but be the person God wants you to be.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
