The genuineness of our heart...!

I Kings 3:3, 7-14 NKJV

And Solomon loved the Lord , walking in the statutes of his father David, except that he sacrificed and burned incense at the high places. Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how  to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?” The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. Then God said to him: “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

Shalom! Day #158. Do you know that you must make a clear request before the Lord, even though the Lord knows the intention of our heart, the Lord still wants us to be specific with our request? Let's pray. Father,  as Solomon prayed, give us wisdom and understanding to differentiate good and evil, truth and lies. Give us wisdom like no one. We do not seek the riches of this world, but we seek the riches of Your kingdom. Impart to us Your wisdom,  knowledge and understanding. In Jesus name we ask and we pray, Amen!

What's our motives in requesting from God. Don't just blindly follow God and blindly receive anything from God. Solomon after been crowned as a king, the first thing he requested was "an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil." Solomon was a wise king, even the bookmof proverbs was written by Solomon. Solomon was a man who is "straight-to-the-point." He doesn't beat around the bush but boldly spoke forth what he wants from God. Do you know what's the reason are you serving God today or just because others are serving so you want to serve as well?

Solomon asked for understanding, but apart of that God gave him abundance every other things which he did not ask. Your attitude towards God is the same attitude you would with one another. If you aren't transparent before God, then its hard for you to be transparent before man. God looks at the intentions of your heart and not the outward actions. God looks at the genuineness of our heart.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
