Abide in Him...

I John 2:6, 15, 28 NKJV

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Shalom! Day #37. Do you know that if we say we know Jesus and living in Him, it means every step or our lives must be directed by God and not us? Lets pray. Father in the name of Jesus we pray that as we study Your word, help us to understand the meaning of abiding in You. In Jesus name we ask and pray. Amen.

Jesus said in John 15:4 NKJV Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. We get that. But do we get that deeply? To understand that relationship, we must examine the word that connects that concept of deep relationship between branch and vine. Notice how the word ABIDE is the focus of this relationship. If we can figure out what ABIDE means in the deepest sense, then we can know how to support the production of the greatest of fruits through Christ's vine. The Greek word for abide is "MENO". It means to stay, to abide, to continue, to dwell, to endure, be present, remain, to stand and to tarry. HUPOMENO means "to continue in hardship or suffering." If we say we know God then we ought to walk just as He. Abiding in Him means, staying in or dwelling in Him. For example, our house is our dwelling place. We stay In a house. It protects us from rainy weather, sun, snow and so on. If you come out of the house during rainy hours, you will get wet. When we abide in Him, we are well guarded, protected, covered, sheltered, provisions supplied. Out of Him we can't do nothing. When we began to live out of Him, we will begin to love the world and the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. God did not abandons us, but the love and desire for God will no longer be in  our hearts, because we allow the craps of the world to be filled in our lives.

Abiding in Him is to stand with Him. To endure together with Him. To wait together with Him. To tarry together with Him. The only way to know Him is to abide in Him. Staying in an intimate relationship. Enduring and suffering together with Him. II Timothy 2:12 NKJV If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. Are you abiding in Him, taking refuge in Him, or continuing to draw life from Him?

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
