Add to your faith...

II Peter 1:5-8 NKJV

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Shalom! Day #33. Do you know that the key to success is in filling of our spirit with the knowledge of Jesus Christ? Let's pray! Father in the name of Jesus we thank You for this day. Help us to grow and be rooted in You as we progress in our faith in You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

In order to have a constant progress or growth in ous faith, we must be diligent. Another translation says, "make every EFFORT to apply the benefits of these promises to your life." If you want to see His promises being established in your life this year, well then make every effort to apply the promises of God in our lives. Lazy Christian's will never progress. They will just remain stagnant and live a defeated life. Adding virtue brings forth or establishes the knowledge of God in our lives. Let us look into the life of Jesus. While He was on the earth, He lived His life for one purpose which is to serve. Goodness was abounding in Him and through Him. As he was demonstrating the Love of god, people who listened to Him were being established in the knowledge of God through Jesus. Virtue means goodness, righteousness. So in this case i choose righteousness. What draws people to Jesus? A heart that wants to Him more. Righteousness is not born together with us, but we earn It by allowing God to purify us daily. As we allow Him to work in us, the deeper we go the stronger we are built on the knowledge of God.  When we are strong in His knowledge, it produces self-control. Self- control , means to control ourselves from being entangled with the things of the world. People who lack self-control, they are easily carried away with the things of the world. Their priority becomes upside down. World first, then the rest, and I won't be surprised if Jesus is not in the list of their priority.

Perseverance or in other words, diligence, persistence, tenacity, or patiently enduring, produces godlike characters in us. This works hand in hand with the knowledge of God. When we are progressing or growing in knowledge of God, His character begins to develop in us. The key to a successful, fruitful Christians life is growing in the knowledge of God and bein purified in righteousness of God. The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
