To see the unseen...

Genesis 13:10-11, 14-15 NKJV

And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord  destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord , like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar. Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are— northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.

Shalom! Day #50. Do you know that we always settled for the things which are seen? Let's pray. Father as we study Your word, help us to see the unseen blessings and not just to settle on the things which are seen and temporary. Give us the faith to believe. In Jesus name we ask and pray. Amen!

People say, the grass is greener at the other side. As a matter of fact they just see the 1st layer of the grass, and they didn't know that all grass has the same green color. This is what Lot saw through his physical eyes. He saw the plains of Jordan well watered, like the garden of the Lord. It was like the "garden" but not "the real garden." Before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was indeed nice, but Lot made the wrong choice and settled for the perishable things. The bible says, "fix your eyes on the things which are from above, for the things are from above is everlasting gifts from God. I Corinthians 2:9 NKJV But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Abram made the right choice! Because of his obedience, faithfulness and his trust in God, the Lord said to him “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are— northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. Abram saw the unseen promises of God, and he see coming to past. Now, today, if you are also being like Lot, just settling for the things seen and are satisfied with it, beware, it will never last. But focus your eyes on the things which are above, those eternal promises of God. His favor and love last for a lifetime. Do not do the same mistake Lot had done. Abram inherited the promised land.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
