Where are you?

Genesis 3:7-9, 21 NKJV

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.

Shalom! Day #46. Do you know that intends the best for us although we sin and repent? Let's pray. Father, thank You for this day. As we study Your word, Holy Spirit help us to walk in Your righteousness and live in a communion with You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!

The moment we sin, our eyes are open to see our guilt, shame, and at moment we tend to cover up our sins, the guilty conscience with something. Here Adam and Eve, they ate from the forbidden tree and their eye was open widely to the things of the world - the good and the evil, but life wasn't there. While we were having a good and healthy relationship with God, the moment we sin, we tend to stop communicating with God, run from His presence, spiritual dryness creeps in and spiritual draught happens AND God comes looking for us, "WHERE ARE YOU?" What will you answer? You know when we sin, instead of repenting, we always tend to find a way to cover it up. And we always settled for the second best or even the worst things to cover us up. In this case the fig leaves did the job.

Just imagine this. In the cool of the day, God came looking for them and did not find. Actually God knows everything, their hiding place and what they have done. But He, asked them "WHERE ARE YOU?" It is not about God is angry of us or not. It is about Him demonstrating His love towards us. Though we have sinned, yet God came looking for us not in the manner of judging but in a manner to rebuild the broken relationship. Our soul will never prosper if our relationship with God is broken. Not even any works we do would prosper, because we have sinned and not repent and run away from God and we think it is OK TO DO SO! We have been fooled and we are living in a lie! Though we have sinned, yet God came to us, in order to restore us, cleanse us, to cover us, to save us, to give a hope for living and to rebuild the broken connection. He asked WHERE ARE YOU, it means unless and until we confess our sins before God, we will forever be running from our guilty conscience. The fig leaves were used to cover them and they think it was good. But then the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them. Do You see here how deep was His love towards Adam and Eve? They settle for the worst and rotten things of the world, but God gave them the best. If today you're in this kind of situation and you're running away from your guilty conscience, NOW IS THE TIME FOR YOUR REPENTANCE AND RESTORATION. Stop running away and begin to rebuild the broken bridge between you and God.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
