My house that is in ruins...!

Haggai 1:4, 6-9 NKJV

“ Is  it  time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to  lie in ruins?” “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to  put into a bag with holes.” Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways! Go up to the mountains and bring wood and build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified,” says the Lord . “ You looked for much, but indeed it  came  to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says the Lord of hosts. “Because of My house that is  in ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house.

Shalom!  Day #266. Do you know that we are so interested in building a good and beautiful house for us but we let our spiritual house, His temple to lie in ruins? Let's pray. Father forgive us for neglecting Your house. Give us a concerned heart to rebuild Your house. Help us to focus in the eternal things and not on the temporary things. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

We are so carried away in having an extravagant, beautiful and luxurious house - no, it's nothing wrong with it, but then at the same time we neglect the conditions of the temple of God. When we neglect the conditions of His temple,  well, we will never prosper in anything we do. Folks, this is a serious matter. The Lord is saying here “You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to  put into a bag with holes.” It doesn't matter how much you earn and bring back home, at the end of the day it still remained not enough, because you earn wages just to put into the bag with holes. When our spiritual house lies in ruin, and we tend to build our physical house, meaning to say to keep our physical looking good outwardly,  but inwardly it's rotting day by day, no matter how good we look outside, still we will never ever be satisfied. We are so carried away about our outward appearance, we fail to take good care of our inward.

God is interested in restoring His temple. And He wants you and I to rebuild His temple. How is the condition of your temple today? Consider your ways, says the Lord! Which is more important to us? Outward appearance or inward? Our heart, Spirit,  His temple lies in ruin! Many followers of Christ,  they seem to be fulfilling the call of God outwardly, but inwardly,  the spirit is dying. Because there is no personal relationship with God. There is not personal touch of God in their lives. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Jesus is the centre of our living,  our source for living, if we do not involve and include Jesus in our lives, whatever we do it will never ever prosper. Let's build our spiritual house, His temple, then let Him build our lives. For we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
