The barren fig tree...!

Luke 13:8-9 NKJV

But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.  And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”

Shalom! Day #316. Do you know that a repented person is like the tree that bear's fruits? Let's pray. Father, as we humble ourselves and seek Your face in repentance, forgive all our sins. Help us to bear fruits as we grow in You. Thank You for giving us a second chance to live and to experience You daily. In Jesus name we ask and pray, amen!

Every one who sins is like the barren fig tree that's no fruit, no life. There is a grace period for every individual to repent, to reconciled and to bear fruit. Those who repent and not bear fruit is liken to the barren fig tree. The tree is big and healthy but no fruit. In this verse, we read that the gardener is asking permission from the land owner to give another 1 year grace period to see the tree bear fruit. And during that grace period, the gardener will prune the tree, fertilize the tree, groom the tree to make sure it bears fruit. This is what Jesus is doing for us individually. He saves, we repent, then He change our lives, we grow in the deeper knowledge of God and then be the doers of the word and bear fruits.

For every sinners there is an opportunity and a second chance to repent. A repented heart will be a prosperous heart when we allow God to prune, water, dig out every thorns and bushes, and fertilized the tree to bear fruit. But if a repented heart is not producing the fruits of repentance,  therefore it will be cut down and thrown into the fire. It means, we sin, then we repent, then again we continue to sin and we repent again. This is not producing any godly fruits, only keep on sinning. The grace of God is not a license for us to keep on sinning. Does your repentance producing any godly fruits?

Let this day be the day of the Lord!
